Manual Exam in Test Centre

I've just taken the Manual Level 2 test at a Pearson VUE test centre and thankfully passed.

I had done lots of preparation taking past papers but they don't fully prepare you for the test conditions. I also took the online mock paper, which matches the format of test but there is only one you can take. I think there should be more of these available.

Yes, I am continuing on to Level 3 - I'm studying with Training-Link and have the Level 3 Manual Bookkeeping folder in my grubby mits. I plan to take both Level 3 manual and computerised and then Payroll before setting up my own practise.

Well done on passing your exam!! Do they tell you straight away like when you did the exam at home on-line?

Just going through level ll at the moment so won't be long until i have to take my exam at the centre. I agree that we should have more than one mock exam  if we want as it's great to have the extra practice.

I also really enjoy doing the case studies in the courses as it's a great way to really see if you know what you're doing. Especially when you do the dreaded trial balance and close your eyes as you press the equals button to see if it balances!Laughing

Would be great to have extra of these once my studies are complete to keep practising until i get a real client!! Is there such a thing available?

I'm doing my level 2 manual exam tomorrow and still waiting for results from my computerised exam, I have been doing bookkeeping for 3 and a half years and I'm pretty confident with the TB, P/L and B/S so hopefully I should be ok fingers crossed!

Hi James,

I took the Level 2 manual exam at a test centre on Friday 18th Feb and passed - but I have still not been emailed my results. Any idea why?

Thanks.

I think you just need to check your results in the members area of ICB website.

When I took my test the results appeared there next day.

I think the emailing of results is all lies to be honest. I didn't get one on my L2 when I passed that, or for my L3 yesterday either!!

It's good to get the breakdown of where you went wrong from the website though. Something AAT should take note of at the moment - as i'm sure anyone else on the forum that is suffering with them currently will testify.

Jason - I think your opening sentence is not appropriate. Why would anyone lie? It is in the interest of the ICB and its members to get results as quickly as possible - all of the exams I have taken over the past two years or so I have had to wait up to a month for. Obviously the ICB has made great strides in my short membership. If people do not get emails it could be for any number of reasons. Usually it is because the recipient has set their email account in such a way that it recognises a truly valid email as junk, sends it to the trash folder or in some circumstances does not even download it at all.
My own ISP has had problems for over two weeks which means that I have not been able to send any emails to hotmail or live accounts - and many of my smaller clients use these by choice due to the cost (or absence thereof).

I'v just taken my Level III manual exam at a Pearson view centre, they now give you your score and result when you leave - I passed 97% :)

I am very impressed with how quickly the ICB let you know the results of an exam. Even the computerised exams which are submitted by post,  seem to get marked in under two weeks.

Don't take it personally Geoff. It was a tongue in cheek statement about it being lies - just trying to interject a bit of humour in the world. I'm not trying to besmirch the ICB's good name. If I was THAT bothered about it, I would have got something done about it, not posted about it on the forum.
