Hi All,

This is my first post here, so I'm a little bit shy. I've just passed my Level 1 exam and I'm thinking about upgrading my membership. Is it obligatory? If not what actual benefits are from being Affiliate Member instead of Student? I know it sounds better but is there anything else? :-)

It certainly isn't obligatory, I went from student to member because I knew I would be taking the exams in quick succession.

If you look at this page
Membership
you can work as bookkeeper if you are an affiliate providing you are supersvised by a qualified bookkeeper. But if you're not intending to do this then I don't think there is any need to upgrade unless your membership is about to run out.

Hi eKit

I was wondering exactly  the same thing myself.  It says on my letter I get an extra year membership ontop of the student one I already paid if I upgrade to Affiliate.

Does anyone know if I would get another year ontop of that once i pass level 2 and upgrade to ACIB??
