Hello

Can someone advise me on how to get Sage 50 Accounts to pass exam for level 2 computerised without buying the software or contact tuition providers as I prefer self-study this time. Although trained 2007 and have a certificate with Pitman training but was not given the software but only the manual.

Your quick responses will be appreciatedSmile.

Hi Funbi,

I know your prediciment. I would contact sage and advice them of your situation and see if they would allow you to download a 'time limit' trial program. You could then do the exam, print it off before the deadline expires. It would probably be a good idea if ICB would contact sage to see if they could have a blanket licence over a trial program for exactly this reason. It may be a good selling aid for sage to allow potential bookkeepers with a taste of their program.

Kind regards

Sage now do an online accounts package called sage one.  You can get a free months trial and then after that its only £10 a month.  Its probably more likely to be a version of instant but  for level two, i doubt you would need 50? I can't remember, it was a while ago I did it.  Not sure how strict the ICB are on the actual version of sage you use.

Sage One will not be the depth of Instant or Sage 50.  It depends what level the ICB requires for their exam.

Hi there

SAGE Instant accounts will be more than enough for the Level 2 Exam. I would not recomend free versions of sage as they do not always allow you to print the reports. I am about to take the Level 3 exam and I have foud that Sage instant was enough for that level too.

I hope this helps

I also used Sage instant for level 2. It was supplied with my course.
I would have a look on ebay, to see if you can pick up a copy of instant on there.  I shouldn't think you need the very latest version, and quite often the slightly older versions can be picked up quite cheap, even though they are brand new/sealed.  Have a look round, and try Amazon too.
