Hi James,

Sounds like I did the same course a few years ago as Stephen.  Spent a fortune on it, only to be told when I telephoned the ICB that they didn't recognise Pitman's qualifications.  I subsequently went on to do the ICB examinations.  Can I ask why the ICB don't recognise the Pitman's qualifications?  Is it because of the manner in which they are taught or the Assignments undertaken?

Many thanks for your reply James.  I thought the course material was quite good, but you are right about the qualifications, it was more of a course completion certificate although I did have to undertake a "Final Assignment" which was sent off to be marked externally.  But they weren't really done under exam conditions and although they were supposed to be timed they weren't particularly strict about it.

Many thanks James and Pauline,

I Suspected that this may be the case, Luckily as a disabled person my course fees have been
covered by the St Loyes Foundation and notwithstanding the poor exam / certification proccedure I have at least
hade the chance to refresh my previous vocational experience and progress onto both Computerised
accountancy and computerised payroll.

I am now considering my options and am seriously considering taking a course of study that will lead to
ICB level 1 then 2 and hopefully 3.

How do I find out if my sage qualification will qualify for exemption?

Many thanks

steve
