Hi

Can anyone help me  -  I am revising for ICB Manual 3 exam using the Kaplan book.  I have become stuck on how they reach the total sales figure of £238,140.

Please can you explain, many thanks in advance.

Hi Molly

Could do with a bit more information as you post is a little vague giving just the total sales figure.

Although I am not qualified to level III yet, someone should be able to help.

Don't worry, you're not alone in having a problem with this question. I've asked it before (halfway down this thread).

Thanks Peasey,

I looked at the thread you posted, very interesting.

I too have been doing some extreme revision and it looks like I need to try the mock on-line then  maybe chill out if okay on that.

My extreme revision gave me a 99% in the Manual and computerised level 2.

Thanks for responding too David.

Dear All

Would you be able to tell me how is the layout of the "Kaplan - Advanced Bookkeeping" manual/book?  Does the book explains the topics in great detail?  Does the book includes plenty of exercises per topic and answers to the questions?

Areas I am quite interested in:

- Fixed assets disposal
- Group accounts
- FIFO, LIFO  - Stock Management in detail, not just bits and pieces
- Partnerships - adding and removing the Partners from the business (bookkeeping procedures to do)

Etc.

Any views would be very welcomed.

Hi Garmen

Personally, I find the kaplan books an excellent well presented study aid.  They deal with most of the advanced level subjects you ask on well, but I am not sure on how they cover the "group account" as I cannot remember seeing this in the book, not sure it is part of the level 3 syllabus.

Hope this is helpful.

Hi Garmen, the advanced bookkeeping manual covers all of these except Group Accounts. The new level 4 book for Financial Reporting covers Group Accounts, cashflow and Stat accounts/notes for Ltd companies, plus recaps on some of the items you mention below (but not partnerships). If you buy both these books from the ICB shop it should cover most things.

Dear Jude67,
