HMRC investigation insurance

Has anyone got any advice regarding a suitable supplier to suggest to a client for insurance for the cost of an investigation by HMRC?

The client currently uses an accountancy firm for completion of his self-assessment & this insurance is included. If I suggest an alternative I may get his self-assessment too which will be easy as I do his bookkeeping. It will also save him a few hundred pounds!

In my day job I do the accounts for an insurance company. I will make some enquiries on Monday Morning. I have not heard of this type of insurance but sounds very intresting. If I find out anything I will let you know.

Abbey legal?

I think that is who used to provide the insurance to the accountants my previous company used.

However if your client is a member of the FSB the insurance is part of the service they offer as a standard part of their membership. I think the current membership is about £140 and they also prvoide legal insurance for employment tribunals etc as part of the package.

ps. I am not a saleman for them.

Thanks, I've had a look at the FSB website & I reckon it is probably the best way forward.
