Hello everyone,

I am very new to the industry and hopefully looking to sign up my first client soon. I have not yet purchased any accounting software as I don't yet have any clients and as it can be expensive it didn't want to pay for something and not be using it, also I have no idea which one to buy!! Anyway in the mean time I thought it might be an idea to start on excel.

So....... What I wanted to ask is, if anyone uses excel, would anyone be kind enough to forward me some templates so I know where to start??? very cheeky I know but I would be really grateful, I just feel so lost at the moment and everyone on this forum seems so helpful I thought it couldn't hurt to ask!

Thanking in advance

Mandi,

It may be worth looking at VT Transaction+.  It's as easy to use as a preadsheet but a lot more powerful.  It is free to try for 60 days and just over £100 to buy.  It can manage multiple companies as standard.  I have used it for 2 years now and wouldn't change to anything else.

You can find it by typing "VT Software" into Google.  It also comes with a version of VT Cashbook which is free, but this is too simple for a bookkeepers needs.
