Letter of Engagement

Could someone kindly email me the example letter of engagement from the Members in Practice pages.  For some reason this evening the site is telling me I don't have access/the required level of membership, except I do, I have a practice licence and just last night was accessing the various pages.

I'm new to this self employment 'malarky' having been 'forced' into it following redundancy.  I'm sure it'll be good for me in the long run, there just seems so much to do suddenly when I hadn't planned on any of this, and it sure doesn't help when technology conspires against me.

Thanks in advance.

It's not just you, it's telling me the same.

I would strongly recommend that you create your own letter of engagement.  The one that is provided by ICB is, to be perfectly honest, terrible.  I designed my own, and while it is one of the few things I'll not share, I am happy to tell you the headings I use.  They are:

  • WORK TO BE DONE
    • scope of limitation
    • agreed upon services
  • FEE SCHEDULE
    • professional fees
    • factors affecting your professional fee
    • direct expenses
    • payment terms
  • TERMINATION
    • the right to terminate
  • LIMIT OF LIABILITY
  • APPLICABLE LAW
  • COMPLETE AGREEMENT
  • SCHEDULE OF SERVICES
I hope this is of some help.
