Sage Instant or Sage 50? Kaplan or Woodgrove Tutorials?

Hello All,

I have just joined this site and cannot wait to get started on my ICB studies and working as a bookkeeper.  But which training provider to use is a total minefield.  Or do I even try to do it alone?  I am part qualified CIMA although this qualification is 16 years old and I have not been working in finance since 1996 so I do feel I need to start from scratch.  I also want to fast-track my studies, as I am not working at the moment, and would like to be AICB qualified in 6 weeks, and then continue with the other levels alongside hopefully working.  I think I have narrowed it down to 2 providers (although this does keep changing):

Kaplan - they only offer Sage Instant (not Sage 50).  Is this a problem or will it be easy to learn Sage 50?  Besides, the new online version of Sage which ICB members will now get free sounds like it might be the way forward.  Also, I get the impression from Kaplan that they offer less support and fewer assignments than other provides - is this correct?  If so, might I be just as well teaching myself?

Woodgrove Tutorials - these seem very professional and do train on Sage 50 but only provide a 6-month training version.  They are £239 more expensive than Kaplan - is it worth paying the extra money?

Thank you for any thoughts or comments.  I really want to get started with my studies this week but am really struggling to come to a decision.

Many thanks
