Hello there,

I would need a little clarity on some areas please

As it a level III  -  what are the level I and II routes to get there ???

An finally :

A the end of the course Level III - can you :

- be responsible for the preparation and interpretation of final accounts - taxation and reporting to HMRC ???? (sole trade / partnership)

- deal with VAT and Payroll without the need  / help from other services.

- Will this course be available for a few years to come ???

- Can I do all levels from home study  (I do understand that examination might be seated )

thank you very much for your reply

Manual and Comp levels I and II are the preceeding levels - much as with payroll management and Self Assesment Tax diplomas.

Aim of exam - humm.... there used to be a blurb on the main site but is has vanished - I'll need to go and hunt down the copy I printed off ages ago with the syllabus.....

Back in a bit.....

Try this link to read up on the course http://www.idealschools.co.uk/diploma-small-business-financial-control  It does not - in as far as I am aware give you the ability to do payroll without the payroll exam - it is an overview rather than the whole thing, nor will it allow you to do self assesment taxation without the relevant exam - so if you were hoping to do just this and skip the other two it probably won't work!

What it will do is round out the set of lv 3 exams, adding a new perspective and some specific training on budget and cashflow forecasting why's and wherefore's, working Capital etc... allowing a greater understanding of money management in the small business setting.

Just did some further reading - you need no prior knowledge to study the course with Ideal Schools - though if you have it you might get exemptions from various sections.

Hi Laurent,

I'd like to add to the good advice that aTeresa has offered. The small business qualification allows students to upgrade their membership to Affiliate level, and this does not allow for any type of bookkeeping, payroll of self assessment practicing. If your goals are to offer your own bookkeeping services then you should concentrate on manual & computerised bookkeeping study, leading to at least associate membership level.

Kind regards
