Yet another exemption question...

Hi, newbie to the site and have chose the ICB as the organisation I wish to be with. I have an HNC in Accounting from several years ago, not within the last 2 years, so I know that is no good for an exemption. However, I am about to do a PDA (Professional Development Award) in Bookkeeping at a local college but that does not finish unitl next year.

I wish to become a member just now. I'm not sure whether the PDA qualification will give me any exemption but is it possible to apply for membership just now and do the basic Level 1 course whilst I'm waiting to do the other course and then apply next year to see if my new PDA qualification gets me exemptions from any of the Level 2 (or even Level 3) exams. Complicated? Sure, but I know you good people have the answer Laughing

Hi Biskit,

There is nothing to stop you registering yourself with ICB and undertaking the Level I exam. This is an online exam and, to ensure you are familiar with the format, it may also be a good idea to complete one of the online practice papers. This'll cost £10 but worthwhile to ensure your rediness for the actual exam, which shouldn't pose you too many issues due to your previous qualification.

Good luck with everything.

Kind regards
