Hello, I wonder if you can help. With more and more reference numbers and emails to keep track of I have been thinking of using a free CRM or similar to keep all records/emails in one place, I would also like to be able to access the records from any mobile device.  Does anyone have any experience of free software I can use or any better way to approach it?

Thank you in advance for your assistance

Hi Welly

I have recently downloaded CapsuleCRM which has a free edition.  I have not used it a great deal yet as not had the chance but have a look and see if it does what you need.

Regards

Hello Liz

Thank you very much for your quick reply, I seem to have been going around in ever decreasing circles trying to find one that is genuinely free.  I will have a look this evening.

Unfortunately, a lot of the time, you get what you pay for.  On the face of it the application may appear free, but dig down and you'll find a lot are charging by stealth.

The CRM I use is not free, but it is worth its weight in gold.  It cost me just over £100 but thats all I've had to pay.  It does everything I need from storing client details. Notes from calls, documents, email, quotes and invoices can all be assigned to clients.  Job sheets can even be created and it works with Outlook for reminders.

It's called Amphis Customer and has a free trial to see if it suits.  Have a go.

Thank you Kris, I agree you tend to get what you pay for but at the moment in my head I know what it needs to do but its applying it to the relevant software packages thats the problem.  I will have a look at the one you suggested

At the moment I simply use Sage for my own accounts and use the Diary and ability to add attachments etc which I find works for me. I already pay for Sage so it makes sense to use its full capabilities. I don't have any experience of dedicated CRM systems though so it may not have the same functionality that dedicated systems do...?

I'm revisiting the topic of CRM as I'm trialling new bookkeeping software and if I'm not using Sage I can't use it for CRM!

I'm inclined towards CapsuleCRM for a few reasons

It links directly to Xero - the software I'm trialling

There is an iPhone/iPad app which syncs easily and is useful when on the go

Looks pretty simple and easy to use although some of the terminology is a bit weird!

Could be useful to have a sales database in the future although it isn't something I'd use at the moment

Anyone else had the time to try it out and have any suggestions or tips?

Snap Clare,

While I still like Amphis, I am looking for something which can automatically bring emails into contact information.

I did look at Logical Office and it does look excellent, but it's a bit expensive.

I've been looking at Capsule too, but trialling Less Annoying CRM at the moment.

Let me know how you get on with Capsule.

We have recently switched to Capsule and so far I really like it. It's got lots of useful functions eg we use the cases and tracks for various recurring and standardised tasks. The flexibility of the report exports is also great.

i haven't used the Xero link yet although it sounds good.

I know this is a really old Topic now but would like to know how everyone is getting on with their CRM choices.

I am currentlly trialling Capsule - trying to work out if I can do a repeating Case Track any help on this will be greatly received.

What CRM are you using and what is the main feature you get out of it?
