Hi, I am looking to get a recognised qualification in payroll as I wish to return to full time work. I have for the past 3 years been paid to do two small businesses payroll using quickbooks, max 10 employees. What I would like to know is doing the ICB 3 a good starter course to have on my CV and to get me through the door of the majority of businesses in the UK today?

Thanks

Much as I would like to say yes the problem lies with the fact you can't do the payroll exam in isolation.  You need to have Lv2 manual and computerised bookkeeping qualification before you can take the payroll exam.

Otherwise I would think that yes, the qualification would suit you well.

Hi, and sorry for correcting you Theresa, but the Payroll qualification can be completed without the need of the bookkeeping qualifications. There are no pre-study or qualification requirements.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards

Oh - Ok.  Thank you for correcting me.

I must have misunderstood when I thought that all the lv3 exams required you to have completed the lv2's first.  I find that slightly suprising - that you don't need the lv2's not that I could be wrong - that happens all the time :)

Hi Theresa,

I understand where you are comoing from but this particular subject does not require a knowledge of bookkeeping, where Self Assessment & legal Bookkeeping do.

I remember I made a mistake once, but I'll need to check my diary as it was a good while ago Laughing
