Sorry, but I'm a bit confused, so would appreciate some guidance, please :

Exactly what bookkeeping tasks will completion of ICB Level 1, Level 2 Manual and Level 2 Computerised ('old syllabus') courses.......plus PII and Practice License, of course.......qualify me for, and allow me to advertise ?

Thanks in advance for any guidance given.

Best wishes,

Al

Good Evening Alan

The best I can offer is :-

http://www.bookkeepers.org.uk/out/51493/Membership%20Structure%20Arrow

And obviously, the Payroll exam lets you perform payroll tasks for a client - Self certification exam qualifies you to calculate tax and complete tax returns for individuals and sole traders.

The thing I am not sure on is - What does the Level 4 in Personal Tax give you more ?

Hi Al,

If you have passed these exams you can upgrade your ICB Membership to AICB status and, under the old syllabus, you are covered to complete accounts for sole traders, with other business types accounts being taken to Trial Balance. Once you upgrade the ICB will provide you with full information and clarification of your do's and dont's.

Hi Trevor,

re the Level IV DIPLOMA qualifications (have to make the Diploma distinction), these require Full membership and completion of the TWO taxation papers (personal & business) would allow the completion of incorporated accounts.

Hope the above is helpful Smile

Kind regards

Thanks, Trevor and Brian

So for sole traders, I will be able to do :

Bookkeeping to Trial Balance
Cashflow forecasts
Credit control
Final accounts for sole traders
VAT returns
Computerised accounting

And for limited companies, partnerships and not-for-profit organisations, I'll be able to do :

Bookkeeping to Trial Balance

Got it. Thanks
