Hello everyone, I am new currently studying for Level 2 passed B1 moving on to B2. I have just been reading through a few posts on the forum and wonder if anyone can clarify what a level 2 qualification actually means in practical terms. I signed up for the course to try to get a better job but reading some of the forum posts I now wonder if I will actually need to go on further to level 3 before I could be a self employed bookkeeper or apply for a job as a book keeper any info would be very helpful

Thanks

Hi Mandy

This is a good diagramme to look at

To be honest with you I don't think level 2 will get you very far. It is just an introduction to bookkeeping. If you want to start on your own you will need at least level 3.

I would say that you really need at least level 3 before it starts to look as a benefit on your CV - but that is my opinion. It depends on your age and what level of accounting job you want to do. Having a level 2 might  be good for applying for trainee jobs or junior accounts clerk jobs.

Thanks thats helpful info. Its been a few years since I studied (kid break) so guess level 2 will get me back in the zone. Then it will just be down to time management hopefully it will be worth it in the end aiming for a flexible job that pays a bit more than minimum wage Smile
