Hello,

I am new to ICB and about to start self studying to take the level II exams.

I just wondered if there were any books/papers revision guides that are recommended to help me through.

Thanks

Good Afternoon Catrin

This gets asked alot - lots of other posts - but I would :-

1. Get the free Training Link trial - covers B1 and B2 (as below)

http://www.training-link.co.uk/page?xPage=free-trial.html

2. Buy the Kaplan self syudy books from the ICB shop.

3. Get a copy of Frank Woods Business Accounting 1, covers whole manual syllabus - you can buy on Amazon secondhand for 40p or download a pdf for free (google search).

So basically, you have lots of free and very inexpensive options to get you started.

Your next question will be - What about the computerised parts ? - purchase a copy of Sage Instant Accounts on ebay.

Hi Trevor,

Just reading your post and wondered if you need the most up to date version of Sage or if an earlier version would be OK. Just scanning ebay and working out the most ecconomical option

Thanks

I have worked my way through the old level 2 papers. Can anyone who has taken the new syllabus tell me if this is enough to cover B1, B2 and B3 papers

Good Afternoon David

If you have worked through the Old Level 2 Manual and Computerised - I would think so (you can always do the online mocks to be sure). Also, cross reference the new syllabus to the Old level 2 syllabus !

Trevor

PS - looking at your qualifications and letters after your name - there must be better paying gigs out there !!

Sorry to hear that David - I have been self employed for years and we sold the family business last August - so also looking for a new career. A home based job to suit yourself is the way to go.

Trevor
