Hi

I just wondered how everyone was doing - I know a lot of us have spoken over the past couple of weeks and were madly trying to achieve the March deadline. It's great that the deadline was extended. I am still aiming for end of March though as I need to get a life back!

I hope you're all doing well - I wonder how many of us are still doing it!!!

Hi

I have managed to pass my manual level 3 on the second sitting - which was a huge relief.

Im hoping to put in for my computerised exam either this week or next, as I am aiming to complete before end of March originally I wanted to have it all in the bag by end of Feb. but that was not to be...

Hi, I failed my first attempt at the end of February but I have it rebooked for the beginning of May. I didnt do enough study for it and what with work and family and life I thought I would give myself plenty of time to prepare for it. I do find it difficult though and sometimes I think I need to go back to the start!

Well done Kazzy on passing on 2nd attempt and good luck both of you on the computerised. You are very lucky to be at that stage!!

Hi,

Tonight I have just submitted my second attempt at the L3 Computerised exam. I failed it the first time in December (80% score).

I had just moved house and started a new job working long hours in December so perhaps it wasn't the best time to try and do that too!

Fingers crossed I've got it right this time :-)

Good luck to everyone doing exams

Hi all,

I passed the Level III Manual last week, thank goodness, and just realised I need to Computerised part to fully achieve MICB.

I can either do the old syllabus one before end of June, or transfer to the new syllabus.  Does anyone have an opinion about which is better/easier?

Also, do you need to have Sage? Do ICB provide a copy?  Or can you do it on any software?

Any help much appreciated.

Your question: can you do it on a package other than Sage? I suggest you follow the recent thread on this forum that asks this question. I am certainly hoping you can as I don't have Sage.

Wooooo hoooo! I got my results, 90% Smile

I clearly wasn't concentrating on the first attempt as I found it 'too easy' on the second - to the point where I thought I must have missed something!

I didn't study in between exams, so I can only assume that I made a silly error at the beginning which then put everythng else out as I went through.

Good luck to all of you planning to sit, have just sat, or waiting for your results.

Don't give up, I was gutted first time around.

Yay - Just got my results for Level III Computerised - 91%!!!  Thank god for that - really thought I'd mucked it up as the second section was really hard and had reasoned with myself about resitting after the Easter holidays Wink

MICB completed - with one day of the original deadline to go - whoop whoop.  Good luck to everyone else.

 Hi Wells,

In reply to your question, I am still doing the Old Syllabus Level 3 Manual an Computerised at the same time:/ I have my manual bookkeeping exam booked for 14th of April and I have just had a bit of a shock when I tried rescheduling my exam. I got cold feet, I don't feel ready, plus I have my daughter's baptism next weekend. I have just tried changing the exam date but there are none available so I suppose I have to do my best. No pressure:P

I hope there will be dates avaialble in case I do not pass at the first attempt!!!!

Good luck to everyone taking exams!!!We can do it!!

Hi Alex

dDoing both is really tough. Good luck with your exam on 14th. Let me know if you want any past papers. When my exam was cancelled, I tried different centres because the rebooking wait was 6 weeks. I went into London in the end, which isn't too far away for me but the centre had loads of availability for rebooking. Maybe you could try this with your nearest big city??

All the best.

> Hi Nisha
When you book your exam online, you have 14 days from THE DATE YOU BOOK IT, to complete it and submit it for marking.

Regarding partnership personal drawings, I would use 3050 and 3051 etc which are partners drawings (otherwise known as current) accounts.

Hope that helps.

Hi all, in the process of doing L3 Comp now, and like many others not feeling too confident! Just having to give it my best guess at a couple of things.

I'm also a bit bemused about how to submit the written section. Do I include the answers in the zipped folder as a Word document?

I have just received my results for computerised level 3, 97% distinction, hooray!!! Am over the moon! My question now is, what membership do I upgrade to, or do I wait until I have finished payroll and self assesment too? I know we had to have them finished by the end of this month, so what happens next?

Hi Paula

I passed my manual and computerised a week ago .. I have upgraded to MICB ... I had to do it over the phone, as the option was not available in MyICB and you will find the results are there for the old style exams, but all of a sudden you will get an excemption for all the new exams B1 to B7, ABA8 and ABA9.  P3 and SAT3 are standalone so you can upgrade now.

You may find that you have to upgrade by the end of June and I would do it sooner rather than later (its no cheaper) !!!

Hi Trevor, thank you for replying. That explains it then, I was looking on my icb and only saw the option to become an affiliate, but was sure I should become a micb now, looking over the letter I received with my certificate, it says MICB as well. I will give them a call on monday and get the upgrade, do you know, what is the difference with level 4?

thanks for your help

Not sure there is too much difference .... The old Level 3 syllabus has just been split between the two levels .... Partnerships in BA5 and Not for Profit Orgs in BA6 - the rest in ABA8 and ABA9 (Unless someone says different !!). I think this is great as I found the Level 3 old syllabus to be a very enormous elephant to eat !!

The old style AICBs can go to MICB by just doing ABA8 and ABA9 - so not sure how you find out about Partnerships and NFPOrgs !! I think if I was an Old AICB I would take BA5 and BA6 and get them added to my licence and then worry about Ltd companies. I think the new breakdown and added options for Associate is really good.

However, from our point of view - I am not sure howw all the excemptions from ACCA for the new exams - would apply to us !!!!

Regards

Trevor
