Creating a blank backup on Sage Instant Payroll self study software?

Hi,

I have been reading posts that say I must take a blank backup of the payroll software before I enter any data, in order to be able to complete mock exams and the real payroll exam.  I have just installed the software, but in order to'activate' it I need to add the employer details given in the workbook. The back up option, which I believe is within 'Tools' is greyed out, so it doesn't look like I can backup until I've added these details.

If I backup after adding these details will I be able to type over them when I do mock and the real assesament?  I really don't want to get this wrong as I fear it will mean purchasing more software for the exam?

Many thanks,

Sarah

Hi Sarah

you can put the company details into sage and then back it up.As long as you don't post any tranactions to the ledger the blanc with be ok, because it will be suitable to rebuild data and then use it for another company,

Kind Regards

Hi Sarah, You can create an entirely new company for your exam and enter all the info from scratch. You can also create other companies for each of the mocks....you do not need to type over any company that you have already set up previously. I hope that this has answered your query. VGS.
