Hi All

Just wondering how others view the ICB qualification?

I have just been reading rather negative views about this on another site (mainly from one person).

After studying hard to gain qalification it is disheartening to hear the view that it is not valued in the job market as much as other examination bodies.

I know a lot of people do not know of the ICB as they do AAT - but was really excited when I came across this route to self- employment.

Hi there

If you are going the route of self employment, then ICB is better, in my opinion - there are loads of "add-ons" that you can do to extend your qualification.

AAT seems to be more recognised in the work place.

Best of Luck :)

Hi Purple,

Try not to worry too much about it.  The value in education is the knowledge you amass rather than the bit of paper you get at the end.  I'm sure through your studies you've learned a lot of valuable skills.

Regardless of the qualification you achieve, there will always be those who will look down on it.

Good luck for the future.

Hi Purple

ICB is better known for those who want to run their own practice.   As you will see in the last newletter from Garry  ICB and ACCA have being working together.

As branch leader for Glasgow all the members I know and who attend meeting at ICB are doing well.   They are a great way to meet other bookkeepers who will pass work on to you if they can.

There will always be people in the world that have different opinions.   For me the main thing is you are learning.
