Hi,

I am using outlook 2016 for my email.

I got married recently and would like the recipient to see the sender as my new name rather than my maiden name.

BUT.... I cannot find were the setting is to change this - all instructions I can find on the web are for earlier versions of outlook and the same field in 2016 has my e-mail address in it and wont allow it to be edited?

Anyone have any experiance with this that can help??

Any advice would be appriciated!

Tash

Hi Tash

right click on the relevant account and click account settings, then select change mailbox sync settings, there is then a name field that can be edited.

regards

PS this is Mail for windows which I think is also known as Outlook 2016, (and I hate it!) I've gone back to using the earlier version because the sent items folder in Mail doesn't always show all the emails actually sent.

If you're using Outlook 2016 from Office 365 - i.e. the Office suite from Microsoft - not Outlook.com that I understand comes with Windows 10 - but is a totally different package - then try this

Login to your admin at https://portal.office.com - if this doesn't work, just Google office 365 admin and you'll find the right link.

Make sure you go into 'ADMIN', then USERS, then Active Users - tick on your email address that you need to change, then EDIT on the right side

In here, you'll see a box called 'Display Name' - this is where you can change what people see when you send them an email :-)

Save and exit

Hope it works for you
