Cancelling membership is hard work!!!

How hard could it be to cancel your membership???

My personal experience proves that it is quite difficult.

My membership expires on 30/09/2016 and as per the terms and conditions I have to give one months notice. So I emailed on 20th July to let ICB know that I would not be renewing my membership at the end of September.

No response

I emailed again on 29th July asking for an acknowledgement of my email sent on 20th July.

Hooray I got a response! I was asked why I wanted to leave and once I had explained my reason for leaving, a declaration form would be sent to me so that I could formally resign.  I replied immediately with my reasons for leaving and asked for the declaration form to be sent to me.

I waited and waited and waited.

I received nothing.

I emailed again on the 8th August asking if the declaration form had been sent.

No reply.

I emailed again on the 9th August.

No reply

I emailed again on the 10th August.

Still no reply so I phoned the ICB. I spoke to a lovely lady who told me that she would email the forms to me. At 4.09pm an email came through saying the forms were attached.

Yep, you guessed it.  The forms were not attached.  I replied immediately to the lovely lady asking her to attach the forms.

No reply.

At 4.57pm I phoned the ICB.

No answer.

I have given up now.  ICB have had an email from me stating that I no longer wish to be a member and if they try and charge me for the forthcoming year, I will not pay.

Dear Jo,

We are sorry to hear that your resignation was not dealt with as swiftly as we would have liked.

We value each and every ICB Member and we strive to ensure that there is nothing further that can be done for a member before sending the resignation form.

In your case, as you have provided the required one month’s notice, you will not be charged for another year’s membership. As per our terms and conditions as long as the required notice is given we would never charge any individual for an additional year’s membership. We apologise if our response time is not as quick as you expected.

You should now have received the relevant declaration forms. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me directly on 0207 856 2567.

Kind regards
