Buddy program

Hi,

I have read somewhere before that there is some sort of buddy/mentor program - I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction to find out more about this please?  I have recently passed my Level 3 and received my practice licence but feel I would really benefit from a 'buddy' I could run things by, ask questions, get reassurance at times of panic!

Thanks in advance,

Tara

I'll also be interested in such a buddy program, because like Tara, I've recently attained an associate membership and got my practice licence.

Hi Tara,

I am in a similar situation as you (waiting for my practice licence to come through) but when I telephoned the ICB to ask about the mentor programme I was told that this scheme does not exist and I would need to go to a branch meeting and ask there if anyone would be willing to 'buddy up' with me.

Shame really because this could be a win/win situation if the newly qualified helped out the experienced bookkeepers....

Thanks for your responses guys.  It's a bit strange that we all thought there was some sort of system in place?

Maybe some kind sole will read this thread and take pity on us.....

My email address is tj.bolton@hotmail.co.uk if you want to speak directly?  It's sometime just nice to compare notes and worries/concerns.

Tara :-)
