Hello Everyone,
We are a month and a half in to our business venture and currently have c.£300 a month in client work but we REALLY need to drum up some business so we are exploring marketing oppourtunities and networking possibilities etc.
Has anyone joined their local Chamber of Commerce, gone to the events etc and obtained clients that way? It's £200 + VAT for our local one so I wanted to hear from people to see if it would make sense and if we would get a return on the investment.
Thanks,
Liam

Hi Liam,
I started in practice this year too.
The best marketing succeses I have had was the one I was told to not bother with by a local business adviser.
That was Facebook belive it or not. There are usualy lots of local business groups on there with sole traders or small to medium enterprises trying to drum up trade. I started to advertise in these groups (with the help of my neice who is much more social media savvy!!) I have had more business from facebook than my website or local networking has given me by a mile. Clients have been more willing to leave rateings and testamonials too, plus they tend to do more social networking for you. Best bit it's free!!!!
Hope this helps.
