Hi all

I only have a few clients at the moment but one of them is interested in Receipt Bank.  I am told that Auto Entry is cheaper.  I am curious to know if anyone has any comments on the fors and against for each.

I look forward to your responses.

If you have only one client requiring such a service then perhaps Receipt bank is a good solution. If however, you are planning to use the service accross multiple clients, I would go AutoEntry, as credits can be used across clients, as opposed to buying a set number of credits per client.

I also find AutoEntry support excellent and they are constantly developing the platform. Also, if you have clients using a different system to generate their invoices, AutoEntry is able to handle these as well to bring into Xero/QB etc, ie invoice entry as opposed to reciept entry.

Also look at Datamalino as an alternative.

Research each and find the best solution for your practice. Certain aspects of each of these solution providers is subjective and so find the one that works for you best, do the trials with each (they all provide free trials).

Hope this helps.

I have mulitple small clients or ones that supply hundreds of invoices every few months - so found that Autoentry was the best solution. Credits can be carried over if not used.   It also has a facility whereby you can upload hard copy bank statements and download them into the correct format for multiple pieces of software.  No Longer is manually creating a csv file for upload with the chances of the odd typographical error needing to be found prior to upload.

There are several solutions out there and as with anything it is not a one size fits all.  Autoentry will not be the best fit for all practices.  Most will give you an online demonstration with thier software to see if it is a good fit for you.  They may even give you some free usage of the system to trial it for yourself.

Hi Sue

I was recently introduced to Receipt Bank as a new client was already using it.  I have since introduced it to four of my existing clients, and they are all loving it.  So am I.  I don't have any experience of Autoentry, but I do find that Receipt Bank are very helpful if you have any queries. There is a good dashboard for accessing all clients from one central area.  I don't find the carry over of receipts an issue, since once clients are using the system correctly (immediately photographing their receipts) then their input each month is fairly constant.  I get regular calls from my account manager at receiptbank to ask how things are progressing - and offering training and advice.  They have also introduced 1Tap for sole traders, which is cheaper and gives you an extra option for smaller clients.   It is very new, and being improved all the time.

I currently have it integrating with QBO and Freeagent, and works well with both. Only problems really are with FreeAgent which doesn't retain the additional description field which can be entered in ReceiptBank, and if you use the really neat Expense report facility - it doesn't retain the split when published to FA - but again that isn't a problem with ReceiptBank - just Free Agent.
