Hi,

Am I right in thinking, that having qualifications up to Level 3, so making me AICB does not allow me to do the books for Limited Comapnies? Only sole traders, partnerships and not-for-profit organisations? Does this mean that I can't touch Ltd companies at all?

Thanks!

Hi,

Think it would depend on when you passed level 3- if its  the new syllabus then I dont think you can. I passed just before it swapped over and I can do draft accounts for LTD companies, but not final accounts. I would ring ICB just to clarify.

Hi - as an AICB you can take on limited companies and undertake the bookkeeping to trial balance (include reconciliations and VAT Returns) but not final accounts.

For that you will need to take the Level IV Certificate in Advanced Bookkeeping and Accounts (and upgrade to MICB) and if you wish to submit the final accounts to Companies House or HMRC you will also need the relevant units from the Level IV Diploma in Advanced Bookkeeping and Accounting.
