Hello,

I bookkeep for a swimming pool who currently employs one swimming teacher (his wife). At the moment the employee wears whatever swimming costume she wants. The owner is thinking about asking the employee to wear a swimming costume provided by himself as he wants a more professional look. He is also thinking about employing another member of staff (his daughter when she qualifies), and he wants them to wear the same 'uniform'. Would this be an allowable expense? Would he have to put the swim school logo on the costume to make it allowable?

Secondly, the employed swim teacher (wife) also handles the bookings, marketing and such, through social media, using her private phone. Is any part of this an allowable business expense?
