Charging clients to do self assessment returns

Hi,

I am just wondering what people charge their clients to do their self assessment tax returns?

I am thinking I might start quoting a flat rate as depending on how organised their accounts are the workload can vary but the amount I charge based on my hourly rate doesn't always seem to justify the expertise involved.

Thoughts welcome.

Self Assessment or Partnership Returns I charge a fixed rate depending on the type of return and whether its Employment/Self Employement / Property etc.  Depending on the state of the accounts I include an hours general bookkeeping but charge per hour for any additional bookkeeping to get it ready for Tax Return.

That's great thanks for your feedback that is really useful.  No I seem to be doing more and more SA returns I want to get a confident structure in place.

Thanks again.
