I was wondering if anyone who has started out as a self-employed bookkeeper could help me. My experience includes preparing accounts for the self-employed and partnerships but over the last 10 years or so I have worked in personal tax.
I took the ICB course to broaden my horizons on the employment front. Now that I have passed I am considering going down the route of self-employment as a bookkeeper. I have no experience as a bookkeeper only from what I have learnt on the course and it concerns me the lack of experience in this area.
Has anybody else started out with no experience and basically winged it (for want of better words) and how did you get on if you did?
Perhaps its just my lack of confidence I don't know but any feedback would be appreciated.
