BA4 exam

Received my result for the BA4 exam and passed with 88%, really pleased.  I have to agree with other users that this has been the hardest exam yet, especially the computerised section.  I have lost some confidence in my training provider as their mock exams bared no resemblence to the ICB mocks or actual exam.

If I can offer one piece of advice, make sure you do at least one of the ICB mock exams before attempting the BA4.  I did and if I hadn't I wouldn't have passed first time.

Hi Pippa, may i ask who your training provider is please?

Big congratulations to you on passing your BA4. I have just completed all my assignments and am about to start on the mocks. I totally klnow where you are coming from in so much as it appears to be the hardest one yet. Wish me luck.

Hi Pippa

Congratulations on passing your BA4 exams.

I have just taken my mock BA4 exams and totally agree that they were the hardest ones yet. Jut awaiting the results before booking the exams.

Good luck with the remainder of your studies.

Hello

Thanks for the encouraging posts.

The training provider I have gone with is Training Link.  On the whole they have been quite good, but I do think their level 3 course mock exams are a little on the simplistic side compared to the ICB mocks and actual exams.

I've now taken and passed BA5, just going through the mocks for the BA6.

Thanks

Pippa

 Hi Pippa

I too am with Training Link. I agree that their mock for BA4 is somewhat different to the actual exam.

My tutor has been excellent throughtout and has helped considerably on bits that are strange!

I did both ICB mocks over the last week and found them to be awkward at first, but soon gotto grips wit their way of thinking.

Glad i did as i took the exam today and found it not too hard as it was in a similar format to their mocks.

Just got to wait for the results now. How long did yours take to come through?

Now going to start on BA5 and BA6 - surprised theres no computerised section to the exams.

Good luck with BA6.

Kind regards

Gordon

My views are:

As did others, I found BA4 to be the hardest exam of all the exams up to BA7. BA5 and BA6 are more straightforward. BA7 is also straightforward but you have to go to a centre to attempt it, which might throw some people. For me, the difficulty was being able to do things on Sage.

The next difficult exam will be BA8. It has a section to do on a software package like Sage, similar to BA4. BA9 looked straightforward to me in the mock examples, as long as you have understood the material that is in the syllabus and can apply it to simple examples, it should not cause problems. You do have to know an awful lot about VAT.

So once you have managed to get through BA4, BA8 is the biggest obstacle to your becoming a full member.
