Have just completed my BA7 exam this morning at the test center, it went well and I passed just waiting to hear what the percentage was.

For everyone still studying upto Level 3 of ICB, keep going you will get there and it will be worth it.

Cannot stress how important it is to do the mocks available online as preparation for the exam/s, they are invaluable to ensuring you are on the right path.

Well done Steven!

I'm taking my BA7 in a few weeks. I've done one mock exam - it was very different to the training link exam. The questions were asked in such a way I felt as if they were trying to catch me out! I'm saving the last mock for a few nights before my exam. How did you revise for the exam?

Hello Jen,

For my revision I had already made myself some notes for the BA5 and BA6 exams (1-2 sides with what I deemed major points for the exam). I then made some more general notes on other aspects of bookkeeping (so covering BA4 elements). I used these general notes mainly in my revision rather than the study text.

I sat the online mock for BA7 and printed the report after I had completed the mock exam and obtained my result. I studied the report from the first mock and worked out the weak spots where I dropped marks and needed to improve. I then spoke to my training provider for assistance in the weak areas for their guidance.

After some studying on my weak areas I took the second mock and again printed the report out. Then concentrated on any other weak areas found between the two exams. Worked through the exam questions again especially the ones where I dropped marks to ensure I was now prepared for them. In the run up to the exam just kept refreshing the weak areas in my mind.

In the exam, just tried to keep calm and not rush any of the questions as it is easy to make a silly error. Do both online mocks that are available and you will be well prepared.

 Good Luck.

Hi Steve
Thank you so much for that – I’ve done one of the mocks already, I’m saving the next one for this weekend which is a few days before my actual exam. My training link tutors have allowed me to redo a few assessments and mocks, but I think I’ll make myself some notes as you suggested to try and push the information into my brain. I seem to come unstuck on where the discounts and carriage go on T,P&L. I keep randomly placing them… not helpful!
Thanks
Jen
