Book-keeping vs Accounting

Hi guys I know the difference between a book-keeper and an accountant. But I am doing a full career path course with ideal schools, which includes the new bolt on cpd frs105 Drafting financial statements and Management accounting.

It claims that in doing so this will mean an accountant isn't required to send of year end accounts for sole and limited companies.

So I would be legitimate once having qualified to claim to be a complete service to all companies without the need for an accountant.

Is this correct - input from training establishments especially welcome.

Thanks

Hi Martin,

The subjects you have mentioned will gain you a Level 4 Diploma award in Advanced Bookkeeping & Accounting. The FRS105 section of study currently covers the completion and submission of accounts for Micro Entitities under that reporting standard. Once qualified you will be able to carry out submissions for this business type without the need of an accountant. A Micro Entity is considered such if it meets any two of the following criteria; 10 or fewer employees, turnover of £632k or less and a Balance Sheet worth of £316k or less.

It is expected that this syllabus will expand to cover FRS102 (section A), covering the completion and submission of Small Ltd Co's. By the time you reach this stage of study your course will cover this additional information.

I hope this helps.
