Hi,

I've been wondering that as well ?

I have recently completed the Payroll Diploma by just downloading the syllabus and working through it using the HMRC website payroll pages and doing the mock (however I have done quite a bit of payroll work previously, so had a bit of knowledge already). This might be an option ?

I'll be interested to see the replies Smile

Hi,

I am just in the process of undertaking self-study at level 4 having completed the payroll and self-assessment exams via a course with Training Link.

With level 4 however, I felt that I could study this myself and purchased the Kaplan Manual and Computerised workbooks from Amazon for just under £47.00, they are available direct from the Kaplan website too Smile

Hi Jaye,

Is that the Level IV certificate course that you are doing at the moment with the Kaplan books ?

Do you know if there are any books available for the Level IV diploma courses (i.e. FR105 etc)?

Thanks Smile

Hi Lucca,

Yes, it is the Level IV Certificate in Advanced Bookkeeping and Accounts, both the computerised and manual sections, I have purchased a book for each section plus you can purchase exam prep materials too, direct from the Kaplan website should you wish.

Having had a quick look around, Kaplan do not appear to do any workbooks for FRS105 but Ideal Schools do a CPD course covering FRS105, Drafting Financial Statements and Management Accounting for £695 as well as having options to take each of the topics as a free standing course, hope this helps.

Thanks Jaye Smile I was hoping to avoid some of the additional costs of having to do a 'course' - but perhaps I will bite the bullet for the Level IV Diploma courses ! At least I can self-study to that point.
