Hi guys, I know this might seem like a silly question, but what exactly does a bookkeeper do on a monthly basis?

I don;t mean I don't know anything as I have passed level 2 and just about to complete level 3, but obvoiusly don't have any hands on experience and intend to start a practice. So is there any resources anyone knows about listing exactly the types of services offered by practicing bookkeepers, so a suitable marketing plan can be developed.

Hope this makes sense and isn't too vauge.

Have you looked at other bookkeepers websites to see the kinds of services they offer?

It's also a really good idea to attend your local branch meeting or Inspire tour and talk to other members who are in practice and pick their brains.

Finally, talk to potential clients and ask what they want.  Do they just want you to plug their figures in for them or do they want monthly reports?

 Yeah i've been doing the research but find them all a bit vauge. It's kind of like which came first the client or the marketing lol. You need to know what your selling before you can advertise it, but i think I'm getting there slowly and will simply enhamce it once practicing.
