Members up to the challenge

Last year's announcement regarding changes to the ICB membership requirements has been reflected in the increased number of qualifications being achieved so far this year.  14% of examination entries for the upcoming February manual examination have been received from existing computerised members seeking to satisfy the new criteria.

These computerised members have completed the Level II and Level III in computerised bookkeeping only and will therefore have the designation AICB (Comp) or MICB (Comp) under the incumbent system.   The new membership structure, announced at the end of last year, requires all new applicants to successfully complete both the manual and computerised papers at Level II for Associate membership and Level III for full Member.

Existing members should find the transition to the new membership structure simple and straight-forward and the ICB's Pat Marshall, is currently working to ensure that any extra competence-proving procedures are as enabling and flexible as possible.

The Institute is delighted with the positive response it has received regarding changes to the membership requirements, and wishes all examination candidates the best of luck in the examination on 10th February.
