The ICB City of London Branch would like to invite all students and members to an event focusing on how to prevent becoming a victim of online scams. We will be joined by Beverley Nicklin and Rob Vale. Beverley is the Senior Consumer Protection Inspector at Bromley Council and Rob is Head of Trading Standards in London Borough of Bromley.
Friends Against Scams is a National Trading Standards Scams Team initiative which aims to protect and prevent people from becoming victims of scams by empowering communities to take a stand against scams. They are aiming to change the perceptions of why people fall for scams and they run awareness sessions across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. They are also supporting the National Trading Standards Scams Teams initiative to achieve one million friends against scams by 2020.
The bookkeeping is changing and so are data regulations, so it is vital that you are as knowledge as you can be to protect yourself and your business! We look forward to seeing you all there.
