Institute member Alan Gammon has been elected Mayor of the Sussex seaside town of Littlehampton.
Being interviewed for the local Littlehampton Gazette, Alan said, “I am looking forward to meeting as many people in the community as possible and leading the town into a prosperous future”. He went on to say that his main focuses throughout his term in office would be working towards the new Littlehampton hospital and the new academy at Littlehampton Community School. His nominated charity is Littlehampton Citizens’ Advice Bureau.
Quite often the butt of jokes from stand-up comics, Littlehampton is described as a coastal gem at the mouth of the River Arun, sheltered by the South Downs. This extremely popular coastal resort town has a European Blue Flag award for its main beach and the huge list of family attractions and entertainment that one would expect from town along the vibrant south coast.
The Institute congratulates Alan on his election and wishes him all the very best for his term in office. |
