Hi I am an ICB member based in Corbridge and am interested to meet up with other members. We seem thin on the ground in the North East, or at least that's my impression!

Ami @ ICB said:

Unfortunately we have had to cancel the Newcastle CPD event due to low numbers.  With over 400 students and members within 75km of the proposed Newcastle city centre location, we knew it would be hard to get numbers like the 75 people who attended the London event, but it shouldn't be impossible!

Perhaps members could let us know where a more convenient location/time might be.  If members are able to set up this proposed meeting in South Shields we can schedule the Chief Executive to pop in later in the year.

Hi, I only found out about this about 10pm last night (Thursday 24th) and was trying to rearrange commitments to be able to attend befor booking a ticket!  If thee had been more notice I would have definitely attended

Hi I am an ICB Member at the moment living in Bolton but intending to move to the Newcastle area this year.Had booked on the 29th seminar but this has been cancelled which is a shame.Would be interested in any future meetings. Am in my fifties with a long career in chemicals behind me and now looking to do something different after taking early retirement.Have applied for the MIP licence info with a view to establishing a small practice working from home.Any advice would be helpful and appreciated.

Hi Stephen,
thank you for that, i was starting to get worried that no one was up here! lol
i always think it is nice to find other people doing the same thing, i think it can be very lonely if you feel you are the only one! I was also hoping to go to the meeting but like yourself find it hard arranging childcare, my husbands job doesnt end at 5 0 clock it can be any time so having to arrange everything and everyone. not easy! it would be nice if they held something closer to home as well, south sheilds would be too far me to travel so looks like i will be missing out on that one as well if it ever come about.

Hi All North East Members

Its Linda Here your NE Chairperson

I would have normally made posts and attended the CPD meeting in Newcastle however I was awayon holiday from 17th March until today so was unable to do anything.

Mike - I think it was you who called me at some unearthly hour, sorry if I was a grump - you had just woke me up...ha ha.

Back to the grind as of now.

Any one in the north east (or intending to be in the north east) who is interested in meeting up, please contact me on my email address esqb1410@yahoo.com with details of what times would be suitable and I'll try to sort something out that will suit the majority. I'm based in Newcastle and the only evening I can't do is Monday. The only morning I can't do is a Friday. However with a couple of weeks notice I can usually fit in a few hours any other day/evening.

As we are quite a big region, I understand that any suggested venues may not suit all, but I have a contact in South Shields who seems willing to allow us a room, which I will confirm this week.

Great to catch up on all these messages. I look forward to hearing from more of you soon

Hi Stephen

Nice to hear from someone in the north east again. I haven't as yet set any meetings, the venue in South Shields is no longer available and I am at a loss as to where to go next. I'd be happy to meet up with any north east members as a one to one initially, just a case of syncronising diaries with some or all of you.

I'd also be happy for amyone to suggest a venue...

Great idea!  The more support we can have regionally the better.  Count me in!

Hi Linda,
Not sure about a venue but i would think that  it wouldn't need to be somewhere large. Perhaps just see who would be interested in attending a meeting and we can all try to come up with a date and time that is good for everyone and then try to sort somewhere to meet up that is cebtral to everyone.

Thanks

Hi

Are there any meetings on the go or planned.  We are looking for any members in the North East region to start local branches. It sounds like there is a nucleus of members who are keen to get together initially for some networking/support.

Hi Linda here the North East Chairperson

There should be a post here soon from HQ as the meeting on 10th has had to be cancelled - family crisis for me-
I will get it re-arranged and let HQ know when it's going to be on again.

I will speak to the venue tomorrow (Friday 6th) and hopefully we will be able to get the roo for the following week Tuesday 17th

Keep watching this space

Thanks Linda

Hi Linda
Good news that you managed to get booked in just one week on. Will re-apply now.
Your last comment about more takers implies that not many were booked up for the 10th. Is that correct?

Hi Mike

Apparantly there was only one person that actually booked up, although others may have decided/will decide to turn up on the night.

Ken Bell has said he would come and me of course, then you. Fingers crossed

Just a shame I had to re-arrange it
Cheers Linda

Yes I would agree with Michael. Thanks to Linda and Ken.
There was lots of good subject areas introduced at last night's meeting. This will give us topics for discussion at future meetings. Already we have the next meeting in the diaries which is promising. See you all in March.

Hi

My name is Lisa I am currently a student in Hampshire studying Manual bookkeeping, at the moment I attend the Fareham branch meetings.
Due to a chage to my husbands carear in the Royal Navy we are relocating back to my home town of Sunderland, I am trying to find out about branch meetings in the locality or as close as is reasonably possible.  We will be moving in the school summer holidays (hopefully I will be well on my way to my level 3).  Also I am trying to make some contacts to start doing some work from the September time.  I have been doing some clubs and a charities books at the moment.

Any advice will be very much appreciated.
