I have had 4 yrs break in my careeer and now to refresh my Bookkeeping knowledge I decided to do ICB. I have completed Level 3 manual exams, and ofcrse cleared all the 3 levels with distinction. Now, I am in a dilema whether I shld satrt looking for Bookkeeping roles or start on my own. Iam at the moment, doing Sage certifications. Would love to hear all your advices!

Hello all!

I'm Helen, completed the RSA 1 and 2 Bookkeeping & Accounts in 1998-99 and AAT Intermediate in 2002. I've recently signed up with ICB, and have today completed Level 1 and signed up for the Level 2's.

I have worked in accounting for nearly 11 years, from purchase ledger to sole bookkeeper, and everything else inbetween!

I am a geeenius on Sage and Sage Report Designer, am a stickler for attention to detail in my work life, adore Excel with a passion, and enjoy finding ways to streamline procedures and systems to make them run faster and smoother.

I have recently set up on my own, slow and steady we progress. I have one regular contract (on-site) but am hoping for more.

Outside of bookkeeping, I am a single mum to 2 gorgeous daughters, am studying for a degree in Maths with the OU, play a mean jazz tenor sax in a couple of bands, and work in my local pub at weekends for fun Laughing

Toodle pip!
Helen x
