Hi

I wondered whether anyone can help please. I have just done the Wilcox & Co mock exam and the goodwill distribution between Wilcox and Brazil has been calculated to the penny. I am used to rounding to the nearest £, would this be marked down in the exam though?

Thank you!

Did you work to the nearst £ in direction of the question or from your own, because if it is demanded to convert then the you are in the right direction.

I have always entered everything in to the penny - as in real life if you round everything to the nearest pound, it could add up to a large variance.

I am not sure how the exam actually works, but I would personally not round up - especially as the mock has the answer with pennies in.  I also have never seen any instruction on the actual exam papers to round up therefore would be wary of doing it.

Hope that helps

Sandra

Thank you both for your replies! I think it will be safest to work things out to the penny!

Always calculate to the penny on these exams, and that includes the balance sheet.
