Hi I am Aat qualified Maat  looking to set up a bookkeeping service and want to take the exams are there any exemption.

Your best bet is to speak to the team at ICB and get them to give you the definitive answer. Best of luck

yes ringing the ICB would be the best course of action.


To be honest it might be good if the ICB can give a list of exemtions that they do accept.  Whilst it wouldnt be possible to cover everything, but it should be possible to give a list of exemptions for the more common qualifications, such as AAT, ACCA, OU, OCR or IAB.

ICB exemption list can be found here: http://www.bookkeepers.org.uk/Membership/PQ/Exemptions

 

You are required to first register as a Student Member, before any exemptions can be confirmed officially.
