Hi All

I have recently started up my pratice and was after a bit of advice.

Which accounting programs do people prefer to use. I have a potential first client and wanted to be prepeared with an action plan for them of how we could work it (as i know they do not have any computerised system, but this would be an advantage to them)

Vt , Quickbooks and Sageone have all been mentioned to me. But i am unsure as to which would be the best to use. I was looking for something that could almost be universal for all my clinets, if that is at all possible!

All advise is welcome. and if there is any one in the Redditch/bromsgrove/studley/birmingham area that  had signed up to the bubby sceme, i would be most greatfull if they could get in touch.

Thank you in advance

Hi Ruth

Best of luck with your new client. It really depends what they need. Im a quickbooks proadvisor. At the moment quickbooks are doing bookkeeping events round and about, if you fancy trying that. Im going to a quickbooks online training day at the hawthorns on 15th october, they did mention to a catch up webinar of the day they did the other week which was brillant so if you are interested have a look at the quickbooks online site.

I believe that solar is very good. what trade is your new client in? I wish you every success.

Kind regards and very best wishes

Elaine

Hi Ruth,

I have used Solar Accounts for the last 8 years for all my sole trader accounts.

It is a one off fee which includes free upgrades and online support.

It is also multi company and can be adapted to suit different businesses very easily.

You can download for a free trial so worth doing and playing about with it to see if you like it.

They are very good at responding to all queries and I have even had a response over a weekend!

And no I am not on commission - I just prefer it to anything else I have tried!

I use sageone, its not bad at all and reasonably priced.   Comes with a basic cashbook or a "normal" accounts package, you can also add payroll onto it which is helpful.  I am using sage to run all aspects of my practice, not bad products, would be hard pushed to move away from them.

Hope that helps!
