Sage 50 Professional 2012 - Corrections is not under File - Maintenance so where is it?

I'm on the last 2 pages of this section on Maintenance and Error Corrections and its been the usual struggle as the person who wrote this must have been using a completely different version of Sage 50 Accounts than what is sent out for students. I've spent almost an hour looking for the filepath:

FILE - MAINTENANCE - RECALCULATE but this filepath does not exist.

FILE - MAINTENANCE brings up a little table with the options: Error Checking, Recovery Tools, Reindex Data Files, Data Compression, Rebuild New Data.

Somehow I'm supposed to go into RECALCULATE and click on CORRECTIONS but there is no option so I can't go on to the Corrections Screen to use the Find or Search Function and make the necessary changes in order to finish this section and move on to my assignment.

I'm using SAGE 50 Accounts Workbook Professional v.12

Can someone please please help me!! The F1 Help function is no help at all.

Hi

I know what you mean I think sage have had an update since the notes were written I have had some issues finding things too home screen is totally different ot my notes say wich was not a good start !. Mysage help is quite good otherwise I would try the recovery tools if you definately have errors to correct. I am using ADL notes which I think are different as I cant find anything about error correction in my notes

Good luck

Hi Minnie,

The recalculate option is in File Maintenance>recovery tools - there are a whole load of recalculate options there.  Usually you only use this if there's a bit of a gremlin in the software.  I had to use it because I ran the year end procedure at work and it posted my restricted income (charity accounting) into the last month of the new accounting year, resulting in my tb not balancing.  To rectify it I had to use the recalculate transactions option.

Hope this helps.

Thanks to you both Mandy and Jacqui, I used Recovery Tools like you said and I was able to move on to complete the section which had asked me to make some changes as if they were errors as part of learning to make corrections, but I'm resolved never to make any errors and to never need Recovery Tools!

 Smile
