I have been playing around with sage and come unstuck. 

I have realised that if I write off to bad debt an invoice by mistake,  say because I've already created a credit note for it, sage won't let me just delete the transaction in corrections.   

So what to do instead?  A journal to credit bad debt and debit where though?

you will need to raise a credit note for the write off to reverse it
