Hi
I've just joined the forum after starting the level 2 course back in March, but putting it on the back burner due to being confused about early settlement discount of an invoice. And alowing the customer to settle the invoice later than the date of the discount being offered, and not paying the full amount and full VAT? And also being busy with my main work within my business.
I'm an electromechanical engineer with my own small business who's learning book keeping and accounting so I can improve my bookeeping to a professional level, instead of a 2 page based record ledger with in and out entries numerically cross referenced with respective reciepts and bank statements. And eventually submit my own tax returns and year end on time to companies house, instead of relying on my accountant who submits them late and causes me a hefty fine. Despite her having at least 20 days before the deadline to transfer them into standard form then submitting them. And then blaming me for it with several feeble reasons, despite her cashing my cheque for her fees almost immediately!
Anyway I'm resuming my studies wher I left off, and catching up where I think I should have been a couple of months ago. So I may be on here asking for help in claryfying such topics.
