Happy New Year to all our members - a new year brings a fresh change to our branch.

We have changed the format of our Branch Meetings to full day sessions, where we can ensure you will find topics relevant to you, whatever stage you are at in your bookkeeping career. As well as structured presentations, there will be plenty of time for networking with other bookkeepers in your area.

We have a varied range of speakers booked, including:

Steven Neate from FreeAgent

Steven will be giving us a presentation on this accounting software.

Mohamed Ghanti from MJ Business Services

Mohamed will be giving us a presentation on The Construction Industry Scheme (CIS). He is sure to provide an easy to follow format on a subject many bookkeepers have lots of questions about.

Alex Beeson from DocuRec

Alex will be giving a demonstration of this automatic invoice and receipt processing software.

Sarah Foreman from LEBC

Sarah will put everyone’s mind at ease about the recent change in law on pensions which has given us “auto enrolment”. Sarah will explain our roles and responsibilities, as well as how to apply and set up the ICB Pension Solutions Scheme which has been formed jointly by ICB, LEBC and Aviva.

There are plenty of opportunities to ask questions throughout these presentations

There will also be a range of accounting software freely available for demonstration during breaks, with plenty of time available to ask each other questions.

All new members will be made very welcome, please come along and enjoy a day with other local bookkeepers. The Hatherley Manor Hotel is a beautiful venue with plenty of parking and we will be in a dedicated meeting room.

We hope this is going to be a very popular event so please book early to avoid disappointment. A delicious buffet lunch and refreshments will be included in the booking fee.

Hi to all the Gloucestershire Members

Happy New Year!

As Nicky has said in her post we have been busy over the Christmas and New Year period putting together a new branch meeting format and booking some great speakers for our first meeting of 2016.

Mohamed Ghanti is back by special request as he proved so popular at our June meeting last year. His topic, CIS, is one of those that many of us would like to know more about.

We are just finalising and double checking the arrangements so we hope to be in touch by e-mail later in the week.

Hi Guys,

Looks like an interesting agenda. Quick question;

I’m based down in Nailsworth and don’t drive (partially sighted) so would need to get there by public transport which would get me to the venue by around 10:15 at the latest. Would you have a problem if I turned up a bit late?
