Telford Shropshire Meetings to start again

Hi All of you in the Shropshire area

Many of you will be pleased to hear that the Shropshire meetings are starting up again in September :-)

The vernue will be the same......The Ramada Hotel in Telford, just off Junction 5 of the M54

However, the meetings are going to be on a SATURDAY morning, all being well (subject to OK by ICB HQ)

Time will be 9am to 12pm - however, don't feel you have to be there for the whole 3 hours. If you can only make a couple of hours of it, that's fine - come and go as you can. We're hoping that by doing a 3 hour meeting, it will give us more time for networking with each other as well as a speaker and updates etc.

There will be tea and coffee.....feel free to bring cakes and biscuits to share :-)

If anyone has any comments about this, or suggestions as to topics.......fire away......

If you're planning on coming........let everyone know......looking forward to seeing you all again ....

It would be great to see you there if you can make it - but they'll be other dates too if you can't.

We plan to run them every other month on the Second Saturday - so 12th Nov, 14th Jan etc

We'll get some info onto the ICB Events Website in the next week or so.

Hi Carol

Hope you are okay. I think mel means your branches facebook group. Unfortunately I can't make the first onhe as i'm on holiday but hopefully will come to the November one.

Glad you have started them up again. Are you going to the conference? Looking forward to seeing you their.

Have a great weekend.

Hi Elaine

Ahhhhh right - thanks for that - I hate FaceBook and remember saying to Agatha last year that I wouldn't be willing to 'administer' a FaceBook page, and her saying she'd do it - so hopefully she'll have picked up on this and done it - have you Agatha?? Maybe I'll delegate this to one of the 'young ones' once the meetings have got going again.

No problem that you can't make it - I'm sure you're busy enough with your own meetings and work, without attending ours. Don't feel you have to attend - but we're thinking of doing a VAT special on our November one - discussing the various schemes - standard, flat rate, yearly etc - when to register, when not to....distance selling (Amazon UK and abroad etc), accounting for it in software - keeping track of rolling thresholds for exempt / grant led businesses etc...........We haven't got a speaker yet - but intend doing much of it ourselves. If you have any experience of this in a particular field and would be willing to say a few words, that would be most interesting :-)

Do you know, since booking the meeting room for the Sept meeting - we've spoken to 4 people, that would normally have attended..........every one of them is away on holidays that weekend....it does make us wonder if they'll be anyone there :-(

Yes we're going to conference - just booked our train tickets (me, Jenna and Kim) for the Telford to London train (9.30 from Birmingham - Coach E - on Sunday 2nd) coming back Monday eve leaving London on the 1923 train from Euston (coach B). Are you?

Have a good weekend.

Hi Elaine

I just don't see the point of FaceBook - its so full of rubbish, and personal and business is hard to separate. I'm really not interested in how many nappies another bookkeeper has used with her newborn etc.....might sound a bit fuddie duddie, but to me business is business.........personal is personal .......and they should not be mixed!

We're stopping at the Premier Inn Waterloo (Westminster Bridge) - its still being advertised at £79 for the Sunday night at the moment if you're quick. Its only a 10 minute walk to the conference. It makes a long day if you travel down and back in on e day.

We have family down in London which we meet up with on the Sunday night which is why we stop :-)

Hi Carol,

Really sorry but I won't be able to make it - no childcare available on that day. Hopefully I will make it to the next one.

Really pleased to hear the group is re-starting
