I've not dealt with fuel scale charges before - i do understand them and have a client who uses them. Quick books onlin e(QBO) does not yet support them and I've asked them for help with what accounts to post my journal to but they refer me to either speak with my accountant or another forum answer which i believe is incorrect as the way it's done will not populate both boxes 1 and 6 on the vat reurn, it will just add the relevant vat to the amount due.
Could someone please let me know what accounts I need to set up to get this correct?
I have set up an expense account under fuel: fuel scale charge with no vat but i think i now need to set up an income account to post the net and vat amounts to? Would this be under sales (surely not) other income or what?
All help much appreciated!
