Good afternoon and Merry Christmas to all.
We have a sole trader client which does all things horses. They had an area of their land developed as a kind of arena where the horses could be shown. This mostly involved a load of fences in an oval and obstacles and a load of sand.
Now - I know that capital allowances are not claimed on land and buildings, but does this fall into that category? I would look at it that this is more like equipment than buildings, although the fences were "built" - but then so was their computer and thats not a building.
The reason I ask is that the previous bookkeeper has not claimed any allowances for this, but I think perhaps that this could have been claimed. Does anybody have any advice or views?
Thank you in advance.
Mike
