Trial balance problem.

Hi Guys, I'm in need of some help please.
I have Trial balanced Decembers, Januarys and Februarys figures perfectly to the last penny, in both the Debit and Credit sides. Trouble is, when I have done March's Trial balance, I have a difference of £5,054.22. I noticed that if I divide this by 2, it comes to £2,527.11, which is the exact figure for the brought-down balance I have put in the Credit side of the Trial balance, from my 'Owners Drawings and Personal Use Account'
If I could transfer this figure (£2,527.11) to the Debit side of the Trial balance, then it would balance out perfectly again. But I can't do that, as it was a Credit brought-down balance, and not a Debit brought-down balance! Any thoughts and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Any solutions would be life-saving! :-)
Many thanks.

Hi Ken,

Are you sure it is a credit balance you are bringing down as I would expect the Drawings account to normally contain a debit balance.

Hi Dave.

Thanks for your reply.

Yes it's a Credit balance. I have been using two personal banking accounts which I named ''Drawings & Personal Use Account (1) and Drawings & Personal Use Account (2) ... (Ingenious, eh? haha)

As these are personal bank accounts, and not stand-alone Drawings accounts, would the balances always be a Credit balance or always be a Debit balance?

My O.D.& P.U Acc (1) has a Credit balance, but the other personal bank account, O.D.& P.U. Account (2) has a Debit balance.

No matter how many times I scour over the two accounts, I am getting the same results.

In the 3 previous months Trial Balances, (December, January and February) the O.D.& P.U. Account (1) has had a Credit balance and they seem to be all OK .... all tallying up correctly.

So frustrating!

Kind Regards

Ken Wiles
