Hello!

I am just about to sit a payroll exam, but not sure about one thing. For computerised part is HMRC tool to be used or software?

Thanks

If you are taking the 2016/17 examination then we do allow the HMRC Tools database to be used (but not for previous tax years). However please be aware that you still have to produce all the required reports, showoing all the required information and  this can be more difficult using the Tools. We ask at the start of the paper which software you have used. You might find it easier and more straightforward to use commercial software.

 Hi

I think Iris do a free download of their basic payroll software that you could use, as long as no more than 10 employees.
